Given that my typical daily “uniform” comprises of a messy bun, bro tanks, running shorts, and $5 sneaks (complemented by latex gloves and eau de Cloroxé, with accessories by world-renowned designers such as Shark and O’Cedar) - this 40th birthday photoshoot felt like a Cinderella moment!

My fellow solo cleaners:

Please don’t believe anyone that tells you the only way to grow is to expand by hiring employees. Yes, that may work but it’s not for everyone and that’s okay. I clean solo and also run my brand all on my own. My earnings have grown by 147% from last year to now.

You are not a failure because you haven’t hired someone. You are not a failure because you still clean houses instead of branching out to commercial properties. You’re not irresponsible or immature for recognizing that you don’t feel comfortable trusting someone else with your business.

There are many ways to build a cleaning empire. It’s not easy but it’s absolutely possible.

Solo cleaners will always have a special place in my heart. I know how difficult it is to juggle everything. Keep pushing and pretty please know I’m cheering you on every step of the way 🩷

🧐 Things to think about Thursday 🤔

how long since you last changed your air filters, cleaned your vents, or had your air ducts cleaned??

dusty filters, vents and ducts not only contribute visible dust in your home but also dust and allergens in the air that you and your family breathe! I can’t help with the ducts, but I do try to keep air vents and fans clear of external dust for my clients (and for those of us that own pets, the struggle is REAL)!

That’s why I call my cleaning “family” (clients) my “FAM club” - you’re MUCH more than just a paycheck or a house to clean; we’re neighbors, and I’ll treat your home with loving care (every single time) whether it’s a second home, rental, or primary residence, your first clean or your 80th!!

This brand new client 💌 📬 had a difficult day with some miscommunications with another cleaning service, and I cleaned her lovely VRBO/AirBNB from 8pm - 1:08am ⏰ (her sister, also one of my clients and MVP of referrals - said “what are you, CRAZY?” 🤪 ) - and that’s not even the “latest” clean I’ve ever done - I’ve had many a late night clean stretch into the wee hours. We never quit, over here (I can sleep when I’m dead!! 😅 ☠️ ) - we have HOMES to clean and cobwebs to slay!

At Grit & Grace Cleaning, I realize that having a housekeeper (even biweekly or monthly) is a “luxury” not everyone can afford, and might be the first expense to go when money gets tight - but when you put your trust in me, know that I do what I do because I L-O-V-E helping clients and their families (and pets) feel more relaxed in their homes; the spaces they come home to rest and recharge before going out again to make the world a better place. 🪷 🙏 🧘

Come to think of it, I could probably use a housekeeper, too 🤔 - anybody up for it? 🤭 Got two hairy German shepherds who would love the company!

Been too busy cleaning to post much on here - even on my third (and last client) of the day, how lucky am I to clean windows gazing out onto this beautiful view at dusk? 😍

Fun fact: this was one of the first homes ever built at Apple Canyon Lake Property Owners Association! 🧩
