βοΈπ‘οΈ Arizona Heat + Humidity: Take Extra Precautions
Arizona heat is dangerousβeven when humidity is low. When monsoon humidity rises, sweat evaporates less efficiently, making it harder for the body to cool itself and increasing the risk of heat-related illness.
Whether you are working outdoors or enjoying time outside:
π§ Drink water regularlyβdonβt wait until you feel thirsty.
π³ Take cooling breaks in a shaded or air-conditioned area.
π₯ Use the buddy system and watch out for one another.
β οΈ Know the warning signs, including headache, nausea, weakness, dizziness and an elevated body temperature.
π¨ Confusion, fainting or loss of consciousness may indicate a life-threatening emergency. Call 911 immediately, move the person to a cooler area and begin cooling them with water or ice. Never leave them alone while waiting for help.
AJSD is committed to helping protect our employees and community during Arizonaβs extreme summer heat. Stay hydrated, take breaks and look out for one another!
