If you have pets or longer hair, cleaning annually is recommended. The lint trap does NOT trap all of your lint. Take a look at these pictures of the INSIDE of the dryers we’ve cleaned. The heating element/coil is inside your dryer and can ignite this lint when it builds up over time.
