YARD WASTE DROP-OFF:
You do not have to wait until April to get rid of your yard waste....

ASI accepts yard waste year -round at our drop off facility at 7002 SE Delaware Ave in Ankeny, IA.
Any brown compostable bag, no stickers, and loose twigs are all accepted.
Stop in at the office when you arrive and we can take a look to provide pricing.

Not accepted as yard waste:
Rocks/bricks/concrete
Dirt/gravel
Tree stumps/trunks
Mulch
Sod
Anything over 4 feet

Call ahead if you have questions. We accept materials Monday - Friday, 7 am - 5 pm. Closed Memorial Day and Labor Day.

No, you cannot put yard waste in your regular trash can in Polk County, IA. State law and local regulations ban yard waste—including grass clippings, leaves, weeds, and brush—from landfills. Yard waste must be separated from trash and collected via special paper bags, compostable bags, or designated yard waste carts.

ASI offers some solutions:
We accept yard waste loose and in compostable bags year-round at our office.
We offer curb side collection options during April - November
