⚠️ Warning to fellow service providers and contractors

We don’t make posts like this, but we feel obligated to share our experience with Woods at Avent Ferry in Holly Springs, managed by Excel/Envolve. Envolve LLC

Our company completed approximately $2,800 in work for this property. The invoice is now past our agreed Net 30 payment terms, and despite spending an entire business week trying to get answers, we’ve gotten nowhere.

Over the past week:

* Called the property multiple times.
* Emailed the property manager multiple times.
* Visited the office in person.
* Spoken with corporate representatives.

The result? Nobody can tell me where our payment is, when it will be processed, or who can actually resolve the issue. Every conversation ends with someone saying they’ll “look into it,” but nothing changes.

We went through a lengthy vendor sign up process in which we paid a fee to join, and set up electronic payment. Yet our invoice is now past due, and after an entire week of chasing answers, we’re no closer to getting paid than we were on day one.

If you’re a contractor or service provider considering work for this property or this management company, I’d strongly recommend understanding their payment process or lack thereof, and decide whether you’re comfortable tying up your cash flow while trying to collect money you’ve already earned.

This post isn’t about being impatient. It’s about holding multi million dollar companies accountable for paying small businesses within the terms they agreed to.

I sincerely hope no other contractor has to spend a full work week chasing payment on work they’ve already completed.
