Sally Prasch has a show!!!
Her work is top notch ❣️

Our newest exhibition Fragile Connections by glassblower Sally Prasch opens tomorrow, January 29!

Prasch is UMass’s scientific glassblower and Hampden Gallery’s artist in residence for the Fine Arts Center’s fiftieth anniversary season. When she’s not working in the campus glass laboratory creating and repairing specialty tools for researchers, she produces stunning glass sculptures in her home studio.

For her residency, Prasch has spent the semester working with UMass partners including staff at the Science and Engineering Library, Durfee Conservatory, and the Institute for Applied Life Sciences to explore the use of scientific imagery in her exhibition.

The resulting exhibition, Fragile Connections, features a series of innovative works, from vivid neon-lit sculptures that underscore the urgency of the climate crisis to delicately engraved glass forms bearing thought-provoking texts about environmental issues.

On view January 29 – May 8. The gallery is open Sunday–Friday, 1-5 p.m. and open until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
