Today we pause to remember one of the most courageous days in history. Eighty-two years ago, thousands of brave American soldiers, along with Allied forces, stormed the beaches of Normandy in the largest amphibious invasion ever attempted. Many never made it home, but their sacrifice helped secure freedom for generations to come.
At Turn of the Century Chimney, we are deeply grateful for the men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation. The freedoms we enjoy every day—including the opportunity to own a business, raise our families, worship freely, and pursue the American Dream—were paid for by the courage and sacrifice of heroes.
As we remember the Greatest Generation and the heroes of D-Day, let us also take a moment to thank our veterans, active-duty military members, and their families for all they have given and continue to give.
Freedom is never free.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. 🇺🇸

Today we remember the brave men and women who gave everything for this country — the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice so our families could live in freedom.

This is also an important time to teach our children what this weekend truly means. Not just cookouts, lake trips, or an extra day off, but remembering those who gave all for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

May we never forget their courage, sacrifice, and love for this nation.

Smoke chamber and flue restoration day. 🔧🔥

These buckets are refractory parging material from our trusted manufacturer, , used to restore the smoke chamber of a fireplace. After the stainless steel chimney liner is installed, the smoke chamber will be properly parged to smooth and seal the chamber walls.

This process helps improve the draft, protect the masonry from heat and corrosive flue gases, and creates a properly shaped path for smoke to move into the liner.

It’s one of those critical steps most homeowners never see — but it makes a big difference in safety and performance if keeping the fireplace as a traditional unit.

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedoms.
We are especially proud to recognize our own team member, Kyle King, for his dedicated service in the U.S. military. Your commitment, discipline, and leadership carry through in everything you do — both in uniform and on the job.

To all veterans — we thank you for your courage, your service, and your continued contributions to our communities.

Kyle King served honorably in the United States Army from 2014 to 2022, dedicating eight years of service to the defense of the nation as a proud member of the 10th Mountain Division and several other distinguished units. Throughout his career, King earned a reputation for exceptional leadership, adaptability, and professionalism in both combat and garrison environments.

King deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. His first deployment in 2014 was combat-directed, supporting active operations against ISIS. During this tour, he contributed directly to mission ex*****on and coordination in high-tempo, hostile environments, playing a key role in the success of coalition objectives and the protection of U.S. and partner forces.

His second deployment, in 2020, brought him to Al-Asad Air Base, where he took on a vital role in base defense and force protection operations. There, King supervised and managed the Entry Control Point (ECP), ensuring the security and accountability of all personnel and vehicles entering and exiting the installation. He also oversaw patrol operations in response to frequent indirect fire incidents, maintaining readiness, composure, and morale among soldiers under his direction.

Over the course of his service, King demonstrated unwavering commitment to mission success and soldier welfare. His professionalism and tactical expertise earned him multiple decorations and qualifications, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Expert Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab, and Expert Marksmanship Badge, among others.

Kyle King concluded his active-duty service in 2022, leaving behind a record of excellence and a legacy of leadership that reflects the highest ideals of the U.S. Army — loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. Today, he continues to embody those values beyond the uniform, carrying forward the discipline, teamwork, and resilience forged through years of service to his country.
