You touch these with food-covered hands every single day, and they're probably the most skipped spot in your kitchen.
What you need:
Warm water
Dish soap
A small bowl
A cloth or old toothbrush
Steps:
Pull the k***s off the stove (most twist or pull straight off)
Soak them in warm, soapy water for about 10 minutes
Scrub around the edges and grooves with the toothbrush
Rinse and dry completely before putting them back on
Do this weekly, especially if you cook often
Why it matters: Household germ studies have repeatedly found stove k***s among the most contaminated spots in the kitchen — yet they're one of the least-cleaned.

🧹 Never actually clean my baseboards, just vacuum near them and call it done, which apparently does nothing for the actual buildup

Grabbed a used dryer sheet instead of a rag, the kind that's already been through the dryer once. Wiped it along the top edge of the baseboard first, dry.

The dryer sheet grabs dust way better than a regular cloth and apparently leaves a slight anti-static coating behind so dust doesn't stick back as fast.

For the scuffed and grimier sections, sprayed a little diluted all-purpose cleaner directly onto a cloth (not the baseboard itself) and wiped those spots separately.

Went room by room, took longer than expected just because there's so much baseboard total in a house once you actually look at it.

The dust that came off in some rooms was honestly kind of shocking for something I walk past every day and never notice.

Definitely going to do this more than once a year now.

Detailing a garbage can 1-2 times a year is a good thing too. These get yucky and smelly from mud and debris too.

I secondly agree with this and wish more people had such. 30 seconds to 1 minute rinse vs 5-6 minutes. Life changing and rinses the whole shower completely and more detailed!!

New rule from a cleaning lady: if you have a giant walk-in shower with glass that loves collecting soap scum and hard water buildup, but no removable showerhead… I might just turn around and run. 😂

Seriously though, a removable showerhead is one of the best investments you can make. It makes cleaning easier, helps you rinse surfaces properly, and is just more convenient overall.

And it doesn’t have to be fancy. You can buy the most basic, budget-friendly removable showerhead, and it’s still a million times better than not having one.
