Property managers face this question more often than people realize: “Should maintenance handle this?”

Sometimes the answer is yes.

But occasionally, a property situation may need a closer look before sending maintenance, vendors, or contractors into the unit.

Examples may include:
• Strong or persistent odor
• Sewage backup
• Unknown contamination concerns
• Drug residue concerns
• Biohazard cleanup needs
• Gross filth conditions

In some situations, cleanup may need to happen first before repairs, contractor access, or make-ready work begins.

A short pause up front may help protect your team and support a smoother next step.

Bio-One works with property managers when cleanup goes beyond routine.

Learn when a property situation may require more than standard cleaning or maintenance.

This has been an incredibly difficult week in Lehigh County. Tragically, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office & Forensic Center has responded to five deaths ruled as su***de.

Behind every number is a person, a family, friends, coworkers, and a community forever changed. Su***de leaves a lasting impact on everyone it touches.

Remember, if you are struggling, please know that you are not alone. There are people who care, who will listen, and who want to help. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness. A single conversation can make all the difference.

If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of su***de or is in emotional distress, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide free and confidential support.

On behalf of the Lehigh County Coroner's Office & Forensic Center, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones who are grieving unimaginable losses. Our thoughts are with each of you during this difficult time.

As we close the books on 2025, the Berks County Coroner’s Office has officially completed our final investigation from last year.

In 2025, our office investigated a total of 3636 deaths throughout Berks County. Each case represented a family seeking answers, a community impacted by loss, and an opportunity for our team to provide professional, compassionate, and thorough medicolegal death investigations.

I want to thank my Supervisors, Deputy Coroners, administrative staff, forensic partners, first responders, law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, funeral directors, and all those who worked alongside us throughout the year. Their dedication and teamwork were instrumental in ensuring every case received the attention and care it deserved.

While statistics help us understand trends and guide public health and safety efforts, we never lose sight of the fact that every number represents a person and a family.

Thank you to the residents of Berks County for your continued trust and support as we carry out this important responsibility.

🚨 THREE CHARGED WITH CORRUPT ORGANIZATIONS- MULTI-COUNTY DRUG TRAFFICKING ORGANIZATION DISMANTLED 🚨

A drug trafficking organization responsible for distributing narcotics into the City of Scranton has been dismantled following a coordinated, multi-agency investigation.

The defendants charged are:

▪️ Antoine Jamar McBride
▪️ Marquis C. McBride
▪️ Denise Lateesh Raymond

Each is charged with Corrupt Organizations, along with multiple felony offenses including Possession with Intent to Deliver and Criminal Conspiracy.

The investigation revealed that Antoine McBride was selling narcotics in the City of Scranton while residing in Pocono Country Place in Monroe County, where a stash house was used to store bulk quantities of drugs, cash, and fi****ms.

Through surveillance, controlled purchases, and investigative work, the Narcotics Unit of the Lackawanna County DA’s Office and Pennsylvania State Police Troop R Vice Unit developed probable cause and executed multiple search warrants at properties in both Lackawanna and Monroe Counties, uncovering a coordinated operation that utilized runners, vehicles, and communication networks to move drugs into our community.

As a result of these searches, law enforcement seized:

▪️ Approximately 1 kilogram of co***ne
▪️ 179 grams of crack co***ne packaged for sale
▪️ Approximately 2 pounds of ma*****na
▪️ Over $35,000 in drug proceeds
▪️ Two fi****ms
▪️ Two Vehicles used in the operation, including a BMW and Porsche

This case was built on outstanding collaboration. Special thanks to:

* Pennsylvania State Police Troop R Vice Unit
* Lackawanna County DA’s Narcotics Unit
* Troop N Vice Unit
* Bureau of Criminal Investigations
* PSP SERT Team and
* Monroe County District Attorney's Office

If you build your business on drugs and violence in Lackawanna County, we will dismantle it and take every dollar, every gun, and every asset that comes with it.

This is what coordinated law enforcement looks like. It is another reminder that our agencies are out there every single day and night working together to protect the people of Lackawanna County!
