Extreme cold can damage your homes piping systems
Tips during freeze
• Let faucets drip: A slow, steady drip from faucets, especially those on outside walls, prevents water from stagnating and freezing.
• Open cabinet doors: Allow warm air to reach pipes under sinks by opening kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors.
• Keep heat consistent: Set your thermostat to the same temperature day and night, and don't set it below 55°F, even if you're away.
• Close garage doors: Keep garage doors shut to protect supply lines running through there.
