Hey everyone,
I’m excited to announce the support group I’m blessed in starting with my mentor, Nancy Straughn. She is an incredible woman, who is cofounder of the Isiah 61 foundation. She already has positively impacted so many lives in our community.
Our first meeting is in Stratford on July 11, 2024 at 5:00pm.
Everything is anonymous, it’s 100% a safe space for being you and seeking peer support and additional resources as we come in contact with them.
I know that this group has the potential to help so many people. Unfortunately there’s a huge negative stigma against Therapy and support groups. But let me explain why this is sooo necessary for our community to be supportive of.
It’s fact that having a 7+ score means you grew up in an environment where survival was the primary factor. Adversely, this left important resources or life skills not readily available to you for becoming a happy, healthy and successful adult.
In NO way does that mean it’s not possible to still achieve that on your own. It just means that those people had to fight harder to make it. And those people hold an important role in this group for being a light to those who may not be so lucky and are trying to find their way still. But the hope is they can also find peers to relate with.
For anyone, who is still feeling the effects of surviving their childhood and are still learning their way. This group is a wonderful resource for you. There will not be judgement of any kind. Only caring individuals, support and resources offered in a positive environment. We want to provide the support needed to better the lives of others and our community.
