The unfortunate reality of the mining industry is that it leaves behind long lasting and widespread soil, air and water pollution. In an industry built around the extraction of non-renewable resources, it begs the question, is sustainability hypocritical green-washing? Or can their green initiatives truly bring about change?

The mining industry accounts for over 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Its processes leave behind severe environmental degradation, contaminated water beds and loss of plant and animal life. The world is in dire need of change. Mining companies are being forced to look for greener alte...

Hiding behind the facade of being green, masked politics and greed, has led to expansions onto some of the last remaining wilderness in the EU. “Green washing” does not solve the problem. Finding a non-toxic and sustainable solution is the answer to the problem.

Clean Mining

Mining is one of the world's oldest and most lucrative industries. What we mine forms the foundation of our buildings, technology and more, granted it does not come without a price. Years of environmental degradation, soil erosion and loss of healthy lives is the hefty toll we continue to pay for th...

waste is incinerated when it is disposed of haphazardly. The valuable and scarce components of the waste, like silver and gold, are lost. It is crucial that our be recycled safely.

Singapore alone generates over 60,000 tonnes of electronic waste every year. A figure that massive is sure to send chills down your spine, especially when considering that it is the equivalent of each Singaporean disposing of a whopping 70 phones yearly. Our dependence on technology has increased ex...

The mining industry’s unsustainable practices have caused lasting and irreparable damage, destroying entire ecosystems as a consequence. Is there a solution that can completely eradicate toxins from the process?

Mining is one of the world's oldest industries, thriving on the growth of our cities and populations. It provides the foundation for our livelihoods from our buildings to our mobile devices. A stable source of income for millions, however, this money-oriented industry’s activities have caused sign...

The majority of the world's is exported to developing nations where regulations for safe disposal are lax.

We are so quick to discard our electronic devices. Whether redundant or faulty; our electronic waste piles up in landfills and creates significant harm for the environment. Their toxic components, like lead and mercury, seep into our soil and waterbeds; contaminating them and destroying the entire e...

The amount of is growing at a rate of approximately 2 million tonnes yearly. However, less than 20% of what we dispose of is actually collected and recycled safely.

Our resources are finite, and the earth's precious metals are quickly depleting. The smartphones we are so quick to discard contain upwards of 30 scarce elements. As our dependence on technology reaches its peak.

Despite advances in technology, practices are still not sustainable and our planet has deteriorated in unimaginable ways. Is there a sustainable way to continue mining operations at such a large scale?

Oftentimes toxic substances from mining residue seep into the surrounding land and waterbeds contaminating them. Soil erosion and the deterioration of local flora and fauna are just a few of the many dire consequences our ecosystem faces.

As of 2014, the amount of recycled has grown by 1.8 million tonnes each year, subsequently the total amount of has increased at a much more heightened rate of 9.2 million tonnes each year. This discrepancy is much too high for our environment to endure. Is there a sustainable solution to recycle e-waste. Want to know more?

The rampant increase of electronic waste has created a substantial amount of harm to the health of our populations and the environment. Our devices pile up and form mountains of toxic residue, securing this waste stream's place as the world's fastest growing.
