WEALTH = what you EARN (work, investments) – what you SPEND.

If you spend more than what you earn, you are in danger of losing wealth and going into debt. If you already have debt, it will grow bigger. By spending less than what you earn, and saving your money, you will create wealth.

A good way to appreciate the concept of cash flow is to compare it with the idea of profit.
Profit is concerned with cost versus revenues. Cash flow is concerned with the movement and timing of money, cash coming in versus cash being paid out. Profit is an accounting concept. Cash flow is an operating concept.
How they are intimately linked?
1. If cashflow is insufficient and capital has to be borrowed to maintain operations, then the interest that will have to be paid will reduce profits.
2.If costs rise to the extent that a company is not making a profit, then cash flow problems are bound to arise as operations deplete cash reserves.
3. If a company uses its cash wisely, investing the surplus in interest-bearing securities or successful expansion, then the cash will produce which will contribute to profit...
