📢❗🚨 POSTING FOR AWARENESS 📢❗🚨
This afternoon, we received a message on our business page from someone inquiring about our services. He even scheduled an appointment for 1:00 PM tomorrow.
However, after confirming the appointment, he mentioned that we supposedly needed to pay a fee for a permit entry. It was already past 5:00 PM, yet he insisted that the payment had to be made tonight because, according to him, their school’s facilities department was waiting to complete the permit processing.
We were also able to speak with the person over the phone. He spoke fluent Bisaya and even used phrases like, “The Lord will guide us in our endeavor,” which made the conversation sound more convincing.
He later provided bank account details that appeared questionable. He claimed to be the Head of Procurement at the University of Bohol. Unfortunately for him, we have a family member who is a dean at one of the colleges there, and we were able to confirm that no such person exists and that they do not follow that kind of process.
To maintain professionalism, we simply informed him that we would pay the permit fee tomorrow upon arrival and that we looked forward to meeting him. Shortly after, he claimed that they had already acquired the services of a competitor.
The phone number used was 09217051654. Upon searching the number online, we found several posts from other people warning about the same modus.
NOTE: The name used by this person is most likely fake, and the profile photo may have been taken from another individual’s account.
Please stay vigilant, everyone.
