MPOX REACHES AGUSAN DEL SUR

The Provincial Health Office of Agusan del Sur confirmed on June 17 its first case of monkeypox (MPox) — a patient with recent travel history to Davao City. The individual developed a pimple-like rash on the face and is now in isolation for close monitoring and treatment.

Specimen tests were confirmed by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. Close contacts of the patient are under quarantine, with no symptoms reported so far.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and observe preventive measures such as avoiding close contact with symptomatic individuals, practicing proper hand hygiene, and sanitizing shared surfaces.
