The Laundry Assistant is responsible for ensuring the proper cleaning, drying, ironing, folding, and storage of linens, uniforms, and other washable items. The role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and adherence to cleanliness and safety standards to maintain high-quality service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold laundry items according to fabric type and care instructions.
• Operate laundry machines and equipment properly and safely.
• Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or missing items and report concerns immediately.
• Apply appropriate detergents, chemicals, and cleaning solutions based on laundry requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
• Ensure proper labeling and distribution of clean laundry to designated areas or individuals.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor
• Assist in inventory monitoring of laundry supplies.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
• At least high school graduate or equivalent
• Willing to work in 640 Gastambide St Sampaloc Manila
• With basic knowledge of laundry operations (washing, drying, ironing, folding)
• Ability to properly handle different types of fabrics and garments
• Knowledge of proper use of detergents, chemicals, and laundry equipment
• Physically fit and able to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods
• Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and quality of output
• Ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and workplace procedures
• Honest, reliable, and trustworthy
• Willing to work flexible hours or shifting schedules, if required
• Prior experience in hotel, dormitory, hospital, or commercial laundry is an advantage but not required
