JANITORIAL SUPERVISOR
Qualifications :
> High school diploma or equivalent.
> 1 to 2 years of experience as a commercial cleaner or custodian.
> Prior leadership experience (such as a shift lead or team captain) is highly preferred.
> Equipment operation: Proficiency with heavy equipment like industrial floor polishers, carpet extractors, vacuums & others.
> Chemical safety: Deep understanding of chemical dilution, hazard communication, and standard safety protocols (such as OSHA standards and SDS rules).
> Leadership: Ability to motivate a diverse team, delegate tasks fairly, and resolve workplace conflicts/issues.
> Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to report to upper management and train staff.
> Organization: Strong time-management skills to balance inspections, scheduling, and inventory tracking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Assign daily cleaning tasks and coordinate shift schedules.
Arrange replacement coverage or pitch in during staff shortages.
Resolve team conflicts and handle disciplinary or attendance issues. [1, 2, 3, 4]
> Regularly inspect work areas, restrooms, and common spaces to verify standards are met.
> Correct cleaning deficiencies immediately and provide feedback to staff.
> Train new and existing staff on proper cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
> Enforce safety protocols, including the correct handling of chemicals and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders and secure chemical storage areas.
> Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.
Request replenishments from management when inventories run low.
> Prepare reports (daily, weekly & monthly) on staff performance, supply usage, maintenance issues and other report clients may requires.
