The fulfillment of the prophecies of the old had begun. The restoration of mankind was about to begin. The redemption of humankind from sin had finally started with the birth of the Savior.

We have sacrifices that we need to make to, as we choose to follow Christ. There are many worldly activities we have to give up, as they are not in line with what God has ordained us to do. Sometimes we have to leave certain friendships or relationships because they end up trying to pull us away from Christ. The joy in these sacrifices is that God always acknowledges them and they won't go unrewarded.
