This livelihood project will support our primary needs in our I Love Street Children Shelter Home. We are training the parents the basic tool on how to stand on their own and secure their future for their family rather than living life day-to-day basis. OUR ADVOCACY:
Our VISION is ZERO Street Children in the Philippines in 2030 for every city who will participate the program. We rescue street chi
ldren and provide them with food, shelter, education and livelihood. I Love Street Children is a campaign that YOU can help grow into a nationwide and worldwide movement. We are working together to gather more NGO's, missions, foundations, organizations, and individuals to form a coalition to create momentum and "Social People Power" in the Philippines that will enable us all to fulfill the Vision of eradicating the poverty cycle by helping their whole family. ILSC is dedicated to supporting, enriching, and enhancing the living conditions and learning experiences of all street children. Although the primary focus is on the urban areas where high numbers of children live on the streets, eventually, the focus will become nationwide. ILSC will invest its resources to provide living accommodations and education, taking children off thestreets one at a time. The people we offer the shelter to, especially the growing young families, literally are homeless and sleep on the streets. Their primary income comes from gathering garbage every night where they earn PHP 50 a day and most of the time they do not get to eat at all. FREE SHELTER
Our present shelter house is located at 2524 Conchu Street, Malate, Makati City. A 2-storey apartment which provides a roof over the families’ heads where we, as supporters, cover the lease of the house and utility expenses. FREE RICE
We allot for the daily rice consumption of the shelter occupants so that the parents will share for the responsibility of providing for the viand. We encourage them to work thus; they can leave the kids safe at the shelter, out of the hazardous hi-ways and ruthless street environment. FREE BASIC EDUCATION
Every Saturday, we have volunteers who visit and teach these children for an hour or two. Volunteer activities include tutoring and educational games as well as fun activities. LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM & REINTEGRATION
The Livelihood program is a development project aimed atgiving the participants entrepreneurial competencies andeconomic independence, in order for them to progress to ourlast phase of rehabilitation. The Parents of the families receive life-coaching in financing, social and parenting skills in order to rehabilitate them from their past situations and prepare them for reintegration into the community so that they are responsible, self-sufficient and independent people with minimum chance of relapse.
