ASKI MBA Celebrates 20 Years of Insuring Lives and Building Strong Communities
Cabanatuan City — ASKI Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (ASKI MBA) celebrated its 20th Annual General Assembly Meeting and 20th Anniversary on May 14, 2026 at Acropolis North Water Camp and Country Club in Cabanatuan City, carrying the theme, “20 Years of Insuring Lives and Building Strong Communities.” The event gathered officers, members, partners, and stakeholders to honor two decades of providing social protection and financial security to Filipino families.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the heartfelt message delivered by Ms. Virginia F. Sto. Niño, a loyalty awardee from ASKI San Miguel Branch in Bulacan.
Sto. Niño shared her emotional journey of serving ASKI MBA for the past 20 years, recalling how she traveled across the country from Cagayan to Manila and Mindanao to help promote and strengthen the organization despite the sacrifices and challenges she encountered along the way. Looking back, she said none of her years of service were wasted after witnessing how ASKI MBA transformed the lives of members and communities.
She also expressed gratitude to the people who guided and supported her throughout her journey, particularly ASKI MBA CEO Ms. Emeteria F. Quijano for accepting the responsibility of leading the organization despite the difficulties that came with it. Sto. Niño likewise paid tribute to her mentor and the first General Manager of ASKI MBA, the late Areli R. Vega, whom she credited for training and shaping her commitment to ASKI MBA.
According to Sto. Niño, the trust and encouragement she received through the years allowed her to represent ASKI MBA even in international conferences despite her fears and nervousness as a speaker. Her testimony became more emotional as she described ASKI MBA not simply as an organization but as a mission rooted in love, service, and compassion for members.
“If I will be given another chance to live, I will still choose the path of MBA,” Sto. Niño shared, expressing hope that she could continue serving alongside the organization for another 20 years.
Meanwhile, ASKI Founder and President Rolando B. Victoria, who delivered the welcome remarks during the program, emphasized the importance of continuing ASKI MBA’s mission of protection, solidarity, and community transformation.
The anniversary celebration also featured the presentation of the 2025 President’s Report, Treasurer’s Report and Audited Financial Statement, ASKI MBA 20th Anniversary AVP, recognition of awardees, election of the Board of Trustees, and the presentation of ASKI MBA’s 2026 plans.
Representatives from the microinsurance sector also joined the gathering, including Mr. Jun Jay Perez, Executive Director of MiMAP and representative from CARD MBA. In his keynote video message, Insurance Commissioner Atty. Reynaldo Regalado highlighted the critical role of microinsurance organizations such as ASKI MBA in helping vulnerable Filipino families recover from illness, accidents, disasters, and financial difficulties through accessible and meaningful protection services.
Over the past two decades, ASKI MBA has grown into a trusted provider of microinsurance and social protection, continuously expanding its reach and strengthening its commitment to uplifting communities and empowering Filipino families with greater resilience and hope for the future.
