π« NEVER MIX HYDROGEN PEROXIDE AND CHLORINE! π«
Dear friends, it's crucial to understand that you should NEVER mix hydrogen peroxide and chlorine bleach, especially when doing your laundry.
In chemical terms, we can call chlorine bleach sodium hypochlorite. Examples are Zonrox Bleach, Clorox, Winrox, and the like. While Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is an oxidizing agent used also as laundry bleach such as Zonrox Color Safe.
Let's break it down in simple terms:
β Mixing these two chemicals can release harmful fumes that are dangerous to your health.
β It can potentially cause a fire due to the chemical reaction.
β Clothes may get damaged.
β Inhaling the fumes can irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory system.
There is no benefit in mixing the two. In fact, it defeats its purpose and degrades the fabric.
The best way to do this is to use just one chemical. Start with hydrogen peroxide, as it is less damaging to the fabric. Be patient with this, as the effect takes longer than chlorine bleach. Always err on the safe side should you need to use bleach.
Should you feel the need to use both, use them separately. Rinse well and let dry. Then use the other.
Safe laundry, everyone!
