In a commitment to ensuring Porirua, Tawa and Mana continue to enjoy a thriving cricket community, Janice Laundry has sponsored 10 junior teams at North City Cricket Club.
Set up by Wellington locals Chris and Melinda Leatham in the memory of Melinda’s mum Janice, Janice Laundry’s founding principle centers on giving back to the local community.
With outlets in Tawa, Newlands and Newtown, the laundry company has a footprint across most of the Wellington region.
North City Cricket Club can’t exist without the generous backing of sponsors like Janice Laundry, and the company’s dedication to the club via its backing of more than half our junior grade is incredibly well received.
“I was astonished when I heard that Chris wanted to sponsor 10 of our sides for the coming season,” said Junior Convener Michelle Maisuria. “You don’t often hear of that level of support from sponsors, and we’re incredibly grateful to him for it.”
“When we were approached by the club to see if we wanted to sponsor them, it was a no brainer,” said Chris. “Enabling juniors to access cricket and develop a love of sport and community is something we think is incredibly important, so we were more than happy for Janice Laundry to support North City in this way.”
Club members are urged to support Janice Laundry whenever they can, by visiting one of their branches on 120 Main Road in Tawa, 4 McMillan Court in Newlands or 180 Adelaide Road in Newtown.
