🎂 Well, that’s one way to celebrate a birthday! 😂

What was meant to be a relaxing birthday getaway turned into a holiday I'll certainly never forget!

Started off with some amazing food, a beautiful place to stay and a few days of relaxation planned.

Unfortunately I caught a bug from somewhere and my digestive system had other ideas! 💩😂

What followed was several days of running to the toilet, barely any sleep for 48 hours, and eventually an unexpected trip to Taumarunui Hospital's Emergency Department.

Apparently, my body decided things weren't exciting enough, so it threw in a resting heart rate of 180 bpm, quite high blood pressure and a couple of IV drips for good measure! 😳💉

Never thought I'd be spending part of my birthday getaway hooked up to machines in a hospital bed for 8 hours!

On the bright side, I can now say I've experienced the accommodation and hospitality at Taumarunui Hospital. Not quite five-star luxury, but the staff were fantastic!
Word must get around that bug Doctor is in hospital, a few staff members are customers and came in to say hi.😂

🌸 Spring has arrived… and unfortunately, the pests got the memo too! 🐜🕷️🪰

Warmer weather means ants start marching, spiders start showing up, flies get annoying and all sorts of other creepy crawlies start becoming more active.

If you’re already noticing a few unwanted visitors around the house, now is a good time to get on top of them before summer hits.

🐜 Ants
🕷️ Spiders
🪰 Flies
🪳 Cockroaches
🐭 Rats & mice
…and plenty more!

Don’t let the pests enjoy your house more than you do 😅

Send Bug Doctor a message and I’ll get you sorted.

🌸 SPRING IS HERE! 🌸

After what has been a pretty tough winter for some people, we thought we’d spread a little kindness and help where we can. ❤️

Today, we headed out to Erin in Taihape to help with a pest control treatment — and we’re happy to say that the treatment itself is completely FREE and on us! 🐭🕷️🐜

Erin only needs to cover the travel costs, and the treatment we carried out today is our little way of helping out and giving something back to the community.

Spring is a fresh start, and we reckon a little kindness goes a long way. ☀️

🏠 Protect your home

🕷️ Keep those creepy crawlies where they belong — outside!

I've purchased five $20 New World gift cards to help some of my customers who were affected by the large earthquake in Taumarunui.

If you received one yesterday or today, I hope it's helped in some small way during this difficult time. It's just a small way that Bug Doctor wanted to give back and help our community.

A big thank you to everyone who reached out to me when they needed help. My thoughts are with everyone affected by the earthquake. Stay safe and look after one another.

24/07/2026

Woke up to the news of the strong earthquake this morning centred near Taumarunui. Hoping everyone in the area is safe and that there hasn't been too much damage.
If any one needs any help let us know.

If you're in or around the affected regions, let us know you're okay. Thinking of everyone who got a fright this morning. Stay safe and take care.

📢 Payment Terms Update

To keep our terms fair, transparent, and up to date, Bug Doctor has made some changes to our payment policy, effective immediately, due to an increase of over due invoices.

For the vast majority of our customers who pay their invoices on time, nothing changes.

Our updated payment terms include:
✅ Payment is due within 31 days of the invoice date.

✅ A $15 monthly administration fee may apply to overdue accounts to help cover the costs of recovering unpaid invoices.

✅ Interest on overdue invoices will be charged at the applicable annual rate determined using the Ministry of Justice civil debt interest calculator, calculated daily from the due date until full payment is received.

✅ Accounts that remain unpaid for 3 months may be referred to EC Credit Control or filed with the Disputes Tribunal. Where recoverable by law, customers may also be responsible for the actual costs incurred in recovering the debt.

These changes have been made to ensure our payment terms are fair, reasonable, and consistent with current debt recovery practices.

As always, if you're experiencing financial hardship, please get in touch before your payment is due. We're happy to discuss a suitable payment arrangement where possible.

Thank you for your continued support.
