Today is the day we're I am asking that we all get together as a community.
I was recently tagged into a cleaning. I wasn't taking anymore. But this felt right an was meant to be.
Now this beautiful family have had some not nice cards played out for them but most importantly there son,
Here is a little bit of there boys journey so far: Good morning!!
Amazing amazing!! Again, thankyou so much!!
Originally from Auckland, Alex and i took our 5 kids and made the move to the might waikato.
We went on to have 3 more children (10 of us in total), our youngest being born in Han of 2020.
During Jan and Feb Our 10 year old son Tyson was complaining of a sore back but it was only when he needed to go to bed or go to school so we thought he was being a dramatic kid trying to stay up late and get out of school.
He went to school camp at the end of feb and when he returned home Alex noticed tysonβs gums were white and said maybe we should get that checked and at the same time get your back checked.
We did bloods on the Wednesday, Wed night we were in waikato with what they told us could be a bone marrow infection but we would need to go to starship on thursday to double check.
Friday they told us it was leukemia, Monday the 9th of march he started treatment and was diagnosed with Very high risk hypodiploid b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
April 2022 (3 months away from EOT) came and tyson could feel a lump in his testicles, they ordered a ultrasound and on the 11th of april he was diagnosed with relapsed testicular hypodiploid b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
A diagnosis they couldnβt even give us a prognosis for as they had never seen this type of cancer before. They said it was pretty grim.
Tyson persevered and despite what the docs thought he went into remission again!
We were 8 weeks away from EOT and again, on the 5th of june 2024 he was diagnosed with relapsed cancer but this time with Myelodisplastic Syndromes and Acute Myeloid Luekemia.
He will need a bone marrow transplant.
This may be our last chance available to us in NZ.
Tyson has been on treatment for the last 4 and a half years. Our other 5 children at home have stuck beside us every step of the way and today we are a strong family unit of 8 ready to smash out what we hope is the final fight for Tyson to have to endure!
