Over 50 students from Tauranga Intermediate School, Otumoetai Intermediate School, Mount Maunganui Intermediate School and Papamoa College are working as Green Team this week to divert as much waste as possible from the landfill. Great work!

Green team is working through out the week diverting waste from landfill Zespri AIMS Games School Sporting Championships.

This is how you can help:
1. Ensure that all of the students, supporters and coaches are aware of our target and support our Green Team volunteers on the ground who are generously giving up their time to help us out.
2. Bring food and drinks in reusable packaging wherever possible.
3. Do not bring large rubbish bag.
4. Sort your waste by using the red (rubbish), yellow (recycling) and green (food scraps) bins provided.
5. Plan your meal and do not waste food. For example, take uneaten fruits back to your accomodation for the following day instead of putting into composting bin.

Please remember, every little bit of help you provide assists us in achieving the Zespri AIMS Games target and ensures that the Games continue to be an environmentally responsible event every year.

AIMS Games School Sporting Championships is committed to minimising waste and increasing public awareness for recycling and diverting waste from landfill.

A team of 50 student volunteers known as the Green Team spend tournament week patrolling compost, recycling and waste bins at venues around the city.
