I am officially one week post surgery of my second knee surgery in 9 months 🥴
Pain is not great but manageable, I’m feeling like my 6 week time is a smidge optimistic…

This time my knee had a lot of scar tissue removed and both meniscus trimmed. Basically meaning my knee will be on cartilage and eventually bone on bone. Basically securing a knee replacement in future!

My goals of expanding to staff has had to be put on hold, and working in general. I’m frustrated as I love my little business!

Well my surgery is on the 12th however today my physio and surgeon advised to slow things riiiight down. The nerves in my knee are grumpy, the inflammation is huge and my knee is almost double the size 😔 my patella tendon is now showing signs of strain from compensating too… which wasn’t in my original injury..

Still not a confirmed date for surgery yet, however surgeons office said 6-8 weeks is when they are aiming to get me in. Just waiting on acc to do their part.

I will not be taking on any extra work between now and then, just to be able to focus on the prehab and manage the inflammation and pain to set me up for a successful, second surgery ☺️

Yesterday I got a break from cleaning, study and horses and went fishing with my daughter and dad
‘Knotamowa’ as dad mows lawns 😅🤣

Unfortunately our trip was unsuccessful, so no dinner, but I didn’t have to clean the boat 😉 so I class that as a win! But you can tell as it’s not as shiny as my sink taps!

🙁 guess who’s getting another surgery..

Unfortunately my knee ligament reconstruction last year has partially failed, and causing a lot of pain and instability in my knee.

I haven’t got a date for surgery yet, but will keep everyone updated. This does mean I’m likely going to be off again for about 8 weeks 😔 potentially longer.

Shower glass and tile clean 🧼 for a Monday!
A few bits of etching on the glass and tile - not uncommon in Rotorua where there is quite a significant amount of minerals in our water.

So what is etching?
Glass is porous 🧽 like a sponge there is actually small areas in our glass where minerals like to sit and hide. Over time the calcification of these minerals are sitting in those holes and require a technician (not me!) to very gently cleanse with a more potent chemical and tool to get into that build up. Even then not all glass can be fully restored. A technician will also be able to apply a stronger protective coating than what I can offer, but if you’re on a budget I can help advise a cleaning routine, and recommend some protective products you can apply at home - these will just need to be applied more regularly.
