Lovely views at times on this job. We're wishing everyone a fantastic Friday and thanks to the good weather, our wait time for chimney service has decreased to approximately one week.

To ensure efficient service, clients are reminded to notify us of any fireplace issues or part replacements required at the time of booking. This allows us to acquire the necessary parts, which can take 1-3 weeks, before arriving at your location.

We'll be scheduling chimney work around a few new installations over the coming weeks.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE NZHHA ⚠️

It has come to the attention of the NZHHA, local Building Consent Authorities (BCAs), and NZ Police that there are operators within the industry claiming to hold NZHHA SFAIT or SFAST certification when records indicate they are not currently certified, and in some cases may never have held certification.

We have also received reports of homeowners being provided with documentation or advice that may not meet NZHHA certification standards. In some cases, homeowners have reportedly been told that their fireplace has been “condemned” and that the matter is required to be reported to the local BCA.

The NZHHA wishes to clarify that BCAs do not operate a system for recording or registering “condemned” domestic fireplaces in the manner being represented. Independent assessments carried out by properly certified NZHHA members have, in most instances, found that replacement or reinstallation work advised to homeowners was not required.

The NZHHA takes these concerns seriously. All NZHHA members are required to follow our Code of Conduct and uphold professional, ethical, and compliant industry practices at all times.

To help protect yourself, we strongly recommend using registered and currently certified NZHHA members for fireplace sweeping, servicing, inspections, and installations.

If you believe you may have been affected by misleading or improper practices, we encourage you to seek independent advice and, where appropriate, contact NZ Police to lodge a complaint. You are also welcome to contact the NZHHA for guidance or assistance.

With the wind and weather forecast I'm away over the weekend and will be in touch early next week for those leaving enquiries.
Currently about a 10day wait for chimneys on my list already. Getting busy!

17/03/2026

The pace is picking up with cooler evenings. I have some spaces next week for Hamilton and Te Awamutu. Let me know if you want me to add you to my list for chimneys or repairs.

Juno parts. We previously stocked an extensive range of parts, which could be purchased or custom-made. However, as with all durable products, a time comes when they are no longer available. We are now listing our remaining parts. Prices are indicated on the photos. Please note that each part is unique, except for the handle and shaft, of which we have two sets. To obtain a shipping quote, kindly contact us and provide your address.

New installations.
If you have been thinking about putting in a new fire, start thinking now about applying for your building consent.
Why now:
*Around 30 days for that process
*Ken gets busy with chimneys from here on
*The weather gets wetter around April
*It gets darker earlier around then too

So it gets harder to find a good day for an install, where he can cut a hole in your roof, between the weather, shorter days and demand for chimneys.

Start your plan now so that fire is in and working when you need it.

As summer approaches, Ken expands his service offerings to include tasks beyond chimney maintenance. In the past week, he has undertaken fire repairs, provided quotes for new installations, and carried out household maintenance work, including repairing deck steps and adjusting doors. With his background in timber and aluminium, Ken is well-equipped to handle a range of jobs.

If you require replacement fire parts, we can order and install them, and summer chimney sweeping is recommended for those who wish to use their fire as soon as the weather cools down. Fitting a bird stop on top ensures readiness for immediate use, eliminating the need for a clean. If you are interested in a summer clean, please contact us to schedule it before the hot weather sets in.

Unlike some, who prefer to sleep all day when it's warm, Kens still working.!
