When it comes to flood restoration we always get asked how long will it take?

The honest answer is - it depends on a lot of factors. Here's some of what actually drives the timeline:

Localised or widespread? A burst hot water cylinder in one room dries out a lot faster than a natural disaster flood that's swept through the whole house.

How much water, and how clean is it? A small leak is a different job to a room full of contaminated flood water - contaminated water needs extra care to make sure everything's fully dried and treated, not just dry to the touch.

What it's soaked into. Carpet, underlay, timber floors and walls all hold onto moisture differently, so each material needs its own drying time. In more serious cases, like what you can see in Jerry's job here, there may also be some repair work required, but often for smaller flood jobs we are able to successfully dry out materials.

We were all too happy to help our neighbours JAE Central Otago & Wanaka with some extra drying equipment to keep up with demand from frozen pipes and flooding this week.
