We are looking for a physically fit, enthusiastic person who understands the importance of exceptional customer service and satisfaction. This is primarily an APPARELMASTER cover driver role, which involves learning multiple runs, driving our vans to customer’s sites, picking up and delivering our rental products to them and bringing them back to our factory to be laundered. It will also involve covering runs for our LINENMASTER drivers too.

As this role will involve learning multiple runs in order to provide cover for other drivers when they are on leave, the ideal candidate will enjoy variety and be highly adaptable.

The role may also involve working in our Dunedin factory at times.
Building a good relationship with regular serviced customers is key, as well as driving safely.

This role has with a minimum of 35 hours per week. The start and finish times will vary, but will be within day-time hours (i.e., no overnight driving involved).

THE ROLE::
Tasks and Responsibilities::
- Pick up’s and deliveries of our Apparelmaster and Linenmaster rental products for businesses around Dunedin and the surrounding areas.
- Fill in paperwork regarding customers’ deliveries and note any changes.
- Take responsibility for keeping your assigned vehicle clean, tidy and well maintained.
- Be comfortable driving a MANUAL AND AUTO large style transit Jumbo Vans in all types of Otago weather conditions.
- Communicate with customers and the Apparelmaster team.
- General factory duties when not driving which can include the follow:-
1. Sorting Linen & Towelling.
2. Working on our High Speed Ironer.
3. Folding of Towelling by hand and using a specialised machines.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES::
- A dedication to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Ability to start early in the morning when needed, and flexibility in start and finish times generally.
- Full clean NZ drivers licence (Class 1 / Private). Ability to drive a manual is a requirement.

Preens is a company providing a quality Drycleaning & Workwear Rental & now Linen Rental Services throughout Otago under our brand Linenmaster.

We require a person to train in a Driver role and many aspects of our operations at our main plant in Dunedin which services the Otago region.

This position is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm in Dunedin.

This Driver Role is customer facing, and involves picking up and dropping off Retail Drycleaning items from our Stores, Preens Agents and local business clients who order online. This driver run also does some Preens Apparelmaster Rental Products and is the face of Preens.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Otago owned company and to work as part of a team in a service industry dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations in the retail & hospitality sector.

When not driving, you may have a small amount of general duties within our factory, for example, folding commercial customer items.
This role is physical and applicants should have an appropriate level of fitness to cope with these demands. A clean driver’s licence is essential.

• Provide timely and effective communication to the Linenmaster Supervisor and other members of the Linenmaster leadership team.
• Advise the Linenmaster Supervisor of equipment failures and/or necessary repairs; if Linenmaster supervisor is unavailable, advise the maintenance engineer.
• Discuss any production issues with management.
• Liaise with the Linenmaster supervisor if additional resources are required.
• Help to train new staff members and share production tips with them.
• Advise the Linenmaster supervisor of any feedback or communication from customers, including linen reject/return forms.

We operate Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm in low to mid season (Some later afternoon shifts maybe available) peak, high season 6 or 6:30am starts. There is some Saturday work during peak times (5-6 hours) and on days after large events in the city, and short weeks.

We offer a minimum of 35 hours per week and as the season gets busier the hours will likely increase.

**Customer Facing Driver Role – Fulltime Permanent**

The role will also involve working in our Dunedin factory one to two days per week, depending on the season. It may also involve providing cover to other driver runs at times.
