🚛 Casual Class 2 Truck Driver Wanted – Hurunui District 🚛

Due to continued growth, Glassey Spreading is looking for a reliable Class 2 driver to join our team, operating within our fleet of three trucks servicing the Hurunui district.

This is a casual, on-call role for the remainder of the current spreading season. The position will continue into next season, with the potential to develop into a full-time role for the right person.

This opportunity would suit someone seeking flexible hours, semi-retired, between roles, or keen to earn additional income during busy periods.

🛻 The Role:
• Operating a Class 2 fertiliser spreading truck
• Spreading fertiliser on farms throughout the Hurunui district
• Assisting with general duties as required – a practical, hands-on role

✅ What We’re Looking For:
• Current Class 2 driver licence
• Reliable and punctual (early starts are part of the job)
• Confident driving on rural roads and farm tracks
• Agricultural or fertiliser spreading experience preferred, but not essential

📍 Based in Culverden
📅 Casual hours, with increased work during peak periods
💰 Competitive hourly rate

Due to expansion and bringing another truck on this season, Glassey spreading on the lookout for a Class 2 driver to help out with fert spreading in the Hurunui district. It’s a casual/on-call gig, great if you’re after flexible hours or just want to keep your hand in the game.

• Spreading fert on farms around the Hurunui district
• Helping out where needed – bit of a hands-on role
✅ You’ll need:

• Some experience around ag work or fert spreading is a bonus!

📅 Hours are casual – mostly busy during peak times but could suit someone semi-retired, between jobs, or just keen to earn a few extra bucks.

Conference 2025 done and dusted. Congratulations to NZGFA Blenheim for an excellent conference for such a small organising committee. The spreading season is now over and we are onto winter grit spreading.

Shane had some fun in the snow in Hanmer Springs the other week helping CORDE to keep the roads open and clear.
