Repaired a delicate brass table lamp that had taken a fall and dented the main column.
I dismantled it, made a mandrel to work the dent out, and brought the worst of the damage back in line with the lamp’s overall aged condition.
Also replaced the old connector block with a better unit suited for the four-wire setup, then reassembled everything.
Back together and looking the way it should again.

Repaired a leak in a 1920s Sunbeam radiator with a honeycomb core. The shell is made from German Silver — a brass-like alloy with a high nickel content that polishes beautifully and was commonly used before chrome plating became popular. The lower section had split near one of the mounting points, so it had to be opened up to clean out years of corrosion and residue from the leak. I made a custom clamp to hold the split sections firmly in place for soldering, then reinforced the area with a brass patch. Finished it off with a full polish — came up looking great for its age. Another happy customer!

Just been doing a few bits and pieces for a wood fired pizza guy. Started with an "andiron" which is a fancy name for something to stack the wood against to start the fire. Then we made a panel to reduce the size of the oven opening to help contain the heat and use less wood. That led on to a simple bar thingy to help keep the ash away from the pizza's being cooked. Finally it was add a handle onto a paddle for moving the pizzas. For this I added a wooden end and a sliding piece made of wood to keep the hands away from anything hot.

I've been helping my sister and her husband by making handrails, fixing garden steps and rodent proofing their dishwasher hoses. They have quite a few sets of steps and felt a bit more security was in order for them. I was quite happy with the way they turned out - not to ostentatious but quite elegant if I say so myself!
Trying to find solid stuff in convenient places to attach them to was a bit of a challenge as it wasn't designed for handrails when the place was built.

Someone must have dropped this electric frypan. The handle broke (propably Bakelite) and I offered to fix it. After a good degreasing I set up the broken bit to drill & counterbore for a screw. The angle had to be right as it wasn't a square corner. A bit of Super Glue to keep the 2 parts together while I drilled a hole in the other part to tap a thread into it, then when I put the screw in I also super-glued it as well to hold it all together. Another bit of innovation to stop stuff getting thrown out.

I do the odd repair or make bits as required for UMU Pizza at 469 New North Rd, Kingsland. Great pizza (wood fired oven) and they make their own bases - absolutely great and worth the visit! Anyway, I've made some log sitters to set up and start the fire as well as repair the paddles they use. They get a lot of use and crack after a while. Also made four stainless adjustable feet to lift a chiller box off the bench out of stainless.
