EcoSan Workshop: Carpet Stain Removal in Action
At EcoSan, we understand that carpet stains are an unavoidable part of life, especially in homes and rentals. From the synthetic dyes in soft drinks and energy drinks to the organic pigments found in coffee, tea, red wine, and spices like curry and turmericโeach type of stain requires a unique approach to remove it effectively while preserving the carpetโs original color.
Different carpet fibers also react differently to stain removal techniques. Natural fibers like wool are more sensitive and require gentle handling, but they may respond better to certain treatments. On the other hand, synthetic fibers like solution-dyed nylon are more resistant to chemicals but might need a more rigorous approach for successful stain removal.
At our EcoSan workshop, we put these techniques to the test using a range of professional toolsโfrom oxidisers and reducers to pH balancers and ionic solutions that lift stains without harming the carpet.
Recently, we tackled a particularly tough stain: organic mango juice on a 100% wool carpet. This piece was taken from a client's carpet, where we had previously replaced the stained section with a fresh patch. The original stain had been treated with a chemical before we removed it, but we brought the stained piece back to our workshop for further testing.
We divided the stained carpet into three sections, applying a different stain removal product to each. By comparing the results, weโre able to refine our methods and ensure that our Auckland customers receive the best possible service for their carpet stain removal needs.
