A little small business reality check from me today..💙

Today was a hard day🤦🏽‍♀️

One of those days where it feels like everything happens at once, and you're constantly moving from one problem to the next. But that's the reality of running a small business.

No matter what's happening in your personal life, the business doesn't stop. I've answered calls from doctors' appointments, replied to messages from hospital waiting rooms, dealt with staff and client enquiries from the gym, and worked while looking after a sick child. There really isn't a day where I can completely switch my phone off.

Behind the scenes there's wages, GST, ACC, insurance, fuel, equipment, products, repairs, rosters, payroll, invoicing, quoting, client enquiries, staff support, and about 100 other things that need attention every single week and just one of me.

2026 has definitely been one of the tougher years. The cost of living is affecting everyone, and we know so many families are doing their best right now. We're feeling it too.

Some days are amazing. Some days feel like you're putting out fires from the moment you wake up. But since starting Top Tier in 2023, one thing I've learned is that resilience is everything. You keep showing up, keep solving problems, and keep moving forward no matter what the day throws at you.

To our amazing clients, our hardworking team, and our whānau who continue to support us thank you. Every booking, referral, recommendation, review, share, and kind message means more than you'll ever know.

Tomorrow is a new day, and we'll keep showing up. 💙

Almost the weekenddd ✨

I was reading this article this morning and honestly agreed with so many points heading into winter 👏❄️

Our biggest tip? Don’t wait until mould or moisture becomes a major issue 😭

Some simple things we always recommend:

✨ Open windows daily where possible — honestly, as soon as I wake up my whole house gets opened up 😂 Even if it’s freezing, throw a jumper on! - Even 10 minutes of fresh airflow in the morning can help so much.
- Use extractor fans
- Wipe condensation from windows & tracks
- Keep airflow behind furniture
-Stay on top of bathroom moisture!!!

Book regular deep cleans before build-up gets out of control 🧼

A lot of the time mould isn’t about a “dirty home” it’s moisture, airflow and winter conditions working against you 🫶

Especially for families with children, allergies or asthma, staying on top of it early can make such a difference 🤍

Moving into winter, moisture build-up around shower tracks and drains can get out of control quickly if not kept on top of.

These detailed areas often need extra attention over time, and today we gave them a proper refresh ✨🧼

My go-to hack for cleaning artificial plants 🪴✨

Skip the mission of wiping every single lea/ flower do this instead

Rinse them under the sink
Add a little dishwashing liquid
Give them a gentle shake
Dry with a microfibre cloth

Done. Fresh, clean, and back to life in minutes 🤌

✨ Local Business Shout Out - Eye for Detail Painters 🙌🏽

Recently we had a small accident during one of our cleans where a wall was damaged. These things can occasionally happen in any industry, but what matters most is making it right for the client.
