Squee:gee Window Cleaning

07/10/2026

This one is a little different. It's less about the service and more about the people behind it. Hayley, Richard, Jeetan and Sarah. Our small team that cleans some of Auckland's most beautiful homes and takes genuine pride in every one of them.

If you've ever wondered what it actually looks like behind the scenes at Squee:gee, this is the one to read.

I'm Max. I started Squee:gee two years ago because I believed home services could be done better.

We're proud to be featured in the September issue of Verve Magazine.

The article is about something we think about every day at Squee:gee. What does it actually mean to hold a standard? Not just on the windows everyone sees, but on the ones nobody checks.

We call it painting the back of the fence. If you'd like to read the full piece it's linked below.

There's a particular kind of satisfaction that comes from standing back and looking at a home that's been properly cleaned.

Some window cleaning companies advertise a 3-in-1 as an add on to their standard services: glass, frames and sills all included.

We've never offered a 3-in-1 clean at Squee:gee. Not because we don't do those things. Because we've never understood how you'd call it a window clean without them.

The glass is the obvious part. The frames collect salt, dust and cobwebs — they affect how the window looks as much as the glass itself. The sills are where the water and debris sit. Cleaning one without the others is like washing a car and leaving the wheels.

What I care about is whether a customer looks at their windows after we've left and thinks — yes, that's been properly done. Not just wiped down. Properly done.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every job. Not because someone's watching. Because that's the point.

You know that green staining on the walls that just… never seems to go away? 👀

This was a full home softwash we did recently in West Harbour. No pressure, no scrubbing, no damage to the cladding. Just proper mould removal that will actually last.

A lot of Auckland homes cop this from all the shade and moisture in winter and once it sets in, just plain old water and a hose won’t touch it. Softwashing kills it at the root instead of just blasting the surface off (which can actually crack and damage cladding and paint over time).

If your place is starting to look like the “before” photo, drop a comment or send us a message happy to have a look and give you an honest opinion on what it needs.

Something I've noticed over the years: a lot of Auckland window cleaning companies want to come and inspect your home before they'll give you a price.

I get why. Every home is different.

But here's the thing, after cleaning hundreds of Auckland homes across St Heliers, Remuera, Takapuna, Howick, Mt Eden and everywhere in between, I don't need to stand in your driveway to know what your home costs.

Might be a controversial take, but houses are more similar than they are different.

That knowledge is what our pricing is built on. Three bedrooms, four bedrooms, five bedrooms? The price is published, it's what you pay, and you don't need to take time out of your afternoon for someone to confirm it.

Some homes genuinely do need a closer look before I can give a price I'm confident in. When that happens I'll tell you upfront, and I'll explain why. But I'm not going to ask you to move your day around over a tricky window and a twenty dollar difference.

Flat-rate pricing. Clear before we start. No surprises on the invoice.

This is what Richard found inside a window track on a job this week.

A lot of window cleaners clean the glass and call it done.

Frames and sills, that's the part most people skip. Not because it's hard. Just because nobody's going to look.

We look. Every time.

Glass, frames and sillls on every interior booking. Not an upgrade. Just what window cleaning should be.

If your windows haven't had a proper clean in a while you can book online at squeegee.co.nz or send me a message and I'll sort it.

The most common things we hear from new customers usually isn’t about Windows.

There is often a sense of being let down by trades in the past.

We get it. And it’s exactly why Squee:gee is built the way it is. Show up when we say we will. Do the job properly. Communicate clearly from booking to finish.

That’s not a high bar. It just feels like one.

There's something about walking back into a home with freshly cleaned windows.

This Mission Bay home had us take care of the full picture this week (interior glass, exterior windows, and the pool glass too). Every pane, every angle, done properly.

That's what we're here for. A reliable team that shows up, takes care of everything, and leaves your home looking exactly the way it should.
