Final call for 2025.
November sweep dates remain, not sweeping December-January.
(Remember, it was cold last January, and lots asked me to sweep)
Now is a good time for general maintenance too.

Please think harder about reducing the air supply to your fire.
The science behind it is something like this...
Heated wood produces gas that needs air to burn.
The reduction of air allows the gas to escape the chamber and as it cools, it liquefies and then become solid and ready to ignite.
Fire wood is not cheep, but then neither is a flue replacement i caught in time..
Personally, I hardly ever turn the air down, better to add smaller and more regular wood than stuffing it full and suffocating it.

FYI this flue was DIY for many years, pror to me noticing the serious potential of a flue/house fire.

Don't be fooled, thinking the cold and chilly of Winter is over.
