Resilience is a consultancy specialized in water and agribusiness solutions. Established in 2004 in the Netherlands, Resilience has implemented a wide range of studies and projects in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. While analyzing the bigger picture, we assist companies, farmers and governments in developing innovative solutions

in often challenging environments. We work from a strong evidence base in economics, agronomy and environmental sciences; and provide research and project management services. We have offices in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, Bandung Indonesia and Chimoio Mozambique, where we work with local staff and a strong network of researchers, companies and farmer organizations. Research
Resilience takes the lead in research projects that analyze agricultural value-chains, farmer-led irrigation schemes and integrated seed systems. Past research projects studied farmer involvement in multinational commodity chains of companies like Unilever and SAB Miller. We also participated in research projects on legume value-chains in Ethiopia, rice systems in Mozambique and fruits and vegetables in West Africa. Our research distinguishes itself by transcending scale levels from local to global and from policy to practice; providing tailor-made solutions that are built on strong quantitative and qualitative evidence. Resilience coordinates small and medium-sized development projects in countries like Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia and Mozambique. Resilience specializes in agribusiness and water management projects that put farmers and SMEs first. Examples are contract farming projects in Kenya and Tanzania; tomato value-chains in Ghana and Mozambique; and seed business management in Myanmar and Ethiopia. Projects we have implemented were evaluated highly satisfactory and often generated follow-up assignments. Recent projects were implemented for clients like: Netherlands Embassies and DGIS; the World Bank and Bill and the Melinda Gates Foundation; Heineken and Wageningen UR. We are registered in the Netherlands and Mozambique, with audited accounts and an efficient and reliable financial management system.

CAWEE and Resilience are jointly developing a 4-month training course to support female managers and entrepreneurs in the agri-food and textiles sectors. The tailor-made training programme focuses on: business expansion, export readiness and entering the Netherlands market. The blended training consists of e-learning modules, group trainings and one-on-one coaching sessions.

Importantly, the programme will link Ethiopian companies with Dutch buyers, through the organisation of virtual trade missions and B2B matchmaking sessions. Those companies that show high potential for exporting to the Netherlands will be invited for a physical trade mission to the Netherlands at the end of the programme, giving them the opportunity to meet face to face with Dutch importers.

Programme details:
• Training period: November 2021 – February 2022
• Required availability: Half-day training per month and one day follow-up assignments per month
• Eligibility: Directors and managers of female-owned companies that are existing, potential, and emerging exporters in the agri-food and textiles sector
