I remember me having a hard time polishing this gem back to its glossy, factory-new look.
Because the dull and faded paintwork and plastics were the only thing what made this car a true barnfind.
Don’t get me wrong- Polishing the paint and restore its formal looks is easy if you’re equipped with the right tools, products and knowledge.
It was actually me having a hard time because I might liked the “barnfind” look more than just another glossy, polished car. It’s just something else. It tells you a story, like the age rings on a tree. The single stage paint fades from a dark, deep glossy red through orange to a dull, brown/orange-like with a few white blemishes. I bet there’s a colour swatch out there to compare the paint with and tell exactly how old this car would be. If we wouldn’t register cars by vin and licenseplate, that is.
