OGU/BOLO LGA CHAIRMAN PROVIDES WATER SUPPLY AMID POWER OUTAGE

Following the vandalization of PHED power lines, which has left eight Local Government Areas, including Ogu/Bolo, in prolonged darkness for over a month, the Executive Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Chief Vincent Nemieboka, has taken proactive steps to cushion the effects on residents.

To ensure that access to basic utilities is not disrupted, the Chairman has facilitated the regular fueling and operation of heavy-duty generators to sustain water supply across the communities.

The operator in charge of the water facility in Ogu, Mr. Nathaniel Davids, disclosed that water pumping begins as early as 2:00 am, with valves opened by 7:00 am to allow distribution across the community.

In Bolo Community, the Water Committee has also ensured the continuous pumping of water using the generators provided. Similarly, in Wakama Community, generators are being effectively utilized to pump water from the central water source, ensuring residents have access to potable water despite the ongoing power challenges.

This intervention has brought relief to residents, demonstrating the Chairman’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of the people, even in the face of infrastructural challenges.
