Just a few security tips to save you some sorrow.
1. PUBLIC SOCIAL MEDIA USE
Sometimes when waiting on any kind of queue (ATM, Banking hall, mall, restaurant, church, etc), it’s natural to feel the need to whip out your phone to pass time on social media.
You check your newsfeed, you check your DMs, wait... YOUR DMs? With potential world people peering over your shoulder?
If you must, at least set you phone brightness to the very minimum to be sure only you can see your private info.
2. TALKING ON THE PHONE
I cringe on behalf of those who freely make/receive phone calls in cabs, buses and other public places. Everyone can hear you talk about your finances, spouse, relationships, affairs, your s*x life, last night’s party, friends, enemies, past/upcoming trips, etc.
If you don’t take that call, you won’t die!
If you must, keep your responses cryptic and limited to ‘yes’, ‘no’, ‘really?’, ‘interesting’, ‘cool’.
At first, they might consider you rude until you send them a Whatsapp message explaining that you were in a public space and unable to fully talk.
The one that is even doing me concerns those of you who use Uber, Taxify and other cab services.
These services though many times professional, can sometimes provide you the illusion that you have your personal driver and are therefore free to let your guard down.
They are not your drivers.
Enjoy your ride quietly, enter your house and then you can start shouting about how Kunle was such a big ‘dictator’. 🙂
Good morning.
