Here are 6 lessons I have learnt after 6 years in the cleaning business:
1. Not Every Stain Will Come Out and That’s Okay
I learnt that some stains are permanent no matter the chemical, machine, or effort. The real lesson? Managing expectations is as important as cleaning skills.
2. Clients Pay for Peace of Mind, Not Just Cleaning
Cleaningcall is not just removing dirt. We are removing stress. Professionalism, punctuality, communication that’s what keeps clients coming back. The reviews and retuning clients numbers don’t lie 🫡
3. Your Staff Reflect Your Brand
How they speak, dress, handle items, and even move furniture determines whether your company looks premium or average.
4. Cheap Products Cost More in the Long Run
In the early stages I tested different chemicals and tools. Quality products protect fabrics, surfaces, and your reputation.
5. Pricing Is About Value, Not Emotion
You can’t price based on sympathy. I have learnt to charge for expertise, equipment, logistics, and time not just labour.
6. Consistency Beats Motivation
There were slow seasons. Tough clients. Delayed payments. Equipment breakdowns. Yet i showed up. Six years means i choose discipline over feelings.
