The Big Drum Africa has never been just my thing 🙏

It has become a movement because of the way you all embrace it, believe in its mission and work with its vision to raise a generation of young people with excellent character, purpose and charisma.

To every executive, member, volunteer and supporter thank you for making every single day of the last 6 years count.

Some of us have poured our lives into this work. We have fought, protected and preserved the integrity of this community. We have upheld the ideology of spreading love, unity and compassion and nothing less.

Today, our organization is being tested like never before because of how fast we are taking off But The Big Drum Africa was created for moments like this.

Now more than ever, we must bring our values and principles to life in every space every community and every nation building a global family of young leaders with integrity, strong character and a commitment to ending poverty, reducing inequality and spreading God’s love.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also proudly celebrate The Big Drum Humanitarian Foundation the humanitarian arm that strengthens our mission through community service, empowerment initiatives and impactful outreach. Together, these two bodies represent our united purpose to touch lives, transform communities and lift young people into greatness.

There are many more years ahead
So let’s continue working together to take The Big Drum Africa and The Big Drum Humanitarian Foundation to the places God has prepared for them.

Your energy, passion, and unwavering support turned this event into a beacon of hope and unity. Together, we sang, danced, and spoke out, breaking barriers and spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS. Your presence and contributions amplified our shared message of love, education, and the fight against stigma.

This success is not ours alone—it belongs to each of you who stood with us, celebrated with us, and shared in our vision for a better future. Together, we are making a difference, pushing for positive change, and ensuring that every voice is heard in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Speaking at the BeDoCare Conference 2025, Dr. Julie Gichuru urged Africans to shift from online rivalry to celebrating one another’s strengths, innovation and cultural pride.

She challenged the media to rethink its focus: instead of amplifying divisions or losses, highlight the opportunities that exist within the continent and the unity that can drive Africa forward.

We are Africa’s heartbeat — rich in culture, abundant in resources, and unbreakable in spirit. Our story has known struggles and storms, yet in every trial, we rise again, because the soul of Nigeria cannot be broken.
