Celebrating International Day for Biological Diversity 2026

On 22 May 2026, we joined the global community in recognising the importance of protecting and conserving biodiversity that represents the foundation of healthy ecosystems and a sustainable future.

Biodiversity is more than nature around us. It supports essential aspects of human life, including food, clean air, water, medicine, climate regulation, and overall environmental resilience. Every small action we take today contributes to a healthier planet for future generations.

As part of our ESG Quarter initiative, we were excited to launch:

“Grow a Plant in a Month!”

This initiative encourages everyone to plant and nurture a plant for a month to promote greener workplaces, communities, and homes while supporting environmental awareness and sustainability.

Why it matters:

Supports biodiversity and pollinator habitats
Encourages greener and healthier environments
Contributes to climate resilience and carbon reduction
Promotes collective environmental responsibility

Every plant grown is a step toward a more sustainable future. Act locally for global impact.

The OCS Malaysia Q2 Townhall was a meaningful gathering as we reflected on our achievements, celebrated our people, and strengthened connections across the organisation.

Our Managing Director, Ms. Roisin Quinn shared important updates on the company’s performance, growth, and strategic direction as we continue expanding our capabilities across key sectors.

A key highlight of the session was the presentation of the OCS True Star Awards to team members who have demonstrated outstanding progress and commitment within the data centre sector. Congratulations to:

🏆 Mr. Kelvin Kong
🏆 Mr. Jeff Loh
🏆 Mr. Dheventhiran
🏆 Mr. Pablo Lim
🏆 Mr. Ikram Mohd Hariffin

We also took the opportunity to celebrate our Q2 Birthday Babies and enjoy a festive Hari Raya gathering together, making the event even more memorable as colleagues connected over good food, laughter, and appreciation for one another.

Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute towards making OCS Malaysia stronger every quarter. Together, we move forward with purpose, teamwork, and excellence.

One donation can make a difference to more than one life.

OCS Malaysia recently organised a blood donation campaign at the public concourse of our office building, bringing together colleagues, office tenants, visitors and members of the public.

The campaign set out to reach 50 donors. By the end of the day, more than 70 people had stepped forward to donate blood. Organised in collaboration with Persatuan Pesakit Imunodefisiensi Primer Malaysia (MYPOPI) and Pusat Darah Negara, with the support of UOA Business Park, the initiative helped connect everyday workplace activity with a wider community need.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer and partner who supported the campaign.

Facilities management has a direct role in how people experience the spaces around them.

This year’s World FM Day theme, “Cultivating Belonging Through Built Environments,” highlights the importance of creating environments that are safe, inclusive, reliable and well supported.

That starts within our own teams.

Through colleague engagement, wellbeing initiatives, safety practices, recognition programmes and community activities, FM teams build stronger working relationships and a shared sense of responsibility. When colleagues feel supported and included, they are better equipped to deliver the same standard of care across the environments they manage.

Across workplaces, healthcare facilities, manufacturing sites, data centres and public spaces, this work supports more than daily operations. It supports continuity, productivity, wellbeing and trust.

Today, we recognise the frontline teams, technicians, engineers, cleaners, supervisors and support colleagues whose work helps create spaces where people feel respected, supported and able to belong.

Happy World FM Day 2026.

Cooling in data centres is not just about maintaining temperature. It directly affects uptime, equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and operational continuity.

CRAC or CRAH system?

Both play important roles in critical environments, but long-term performance depends on how systems are monitored, maintained, and optimised across live operations.

As our Data Centre SME explains, “CRAC works well for smaller environments. CRAH is typically designed for larger-scale, high-density operations where cooling demand and airflow management become more complex.”

The challenge for many operators is not the technology itself, but maintaining consistent performance under changing loads, rising density, and 24/7 operational pressure.

The next generation of tech talent is already thinking about AI, data, and digital infrastructure. At the DayOne Data Centres Tech & AI Career Expo in Kuala Lumpur, that energy was everywhere: 30 tech ecosystem companies, hundreds of aspiring graduates, all in one room.

OCS Malaysia was there joining the conversation, both on stage and on the floor. Our Operations Director Jeff Loh joined the panel on skills and mindsets for future tech professionals. His advice to the graduates: “Stay passionate and curious, keep upgrading yourself, and embrace new tech applications, from IoT and AI to modern Facilities Management systems. Technology will keep evolving, but it's your mindset that will determine how far you go.”

Our HR team spent the day at the booth in real conversations with students and young professionals exploring where their careers could take them.
