Caregiver Job Description and Duties

Prepare milk and meals according to instructions provided by parents Feed infants on a predefined schedule (and as needed depending on each child’s hunger cues) and guide them to feed themselves when necessary
Maintain a consistent nap schedule in accordance with the infant’s developmental stage
Change diapers (and bathe infants if heavily soiled)Introduce infants to activities and toys aimed at the physical and cognitive development
Manage infant’s social, emotional and physical needs
Rock and verbally comfort infants when they are agitated
Talk to infants to facilitate relationship building and language development
Ensure that all toys provided are clean and safe for infants to use
Perform emergency procedures such as First Aid and CPR in the event of an emergency
Ensure that there is a constant supply of diapers and other baby products by communicating with parents
Manage positive interaction activities targeted
at providing stimulus, growth, and development
Promptly liaise with on-site nurse regarding any medical concerns and for administration of any medications provided by parents
Maintain daily records and reports for infants
Communicate with parents or guardians regarding infants’ progress or problems
Observe and report any significant behavioral patterns to the parents

Application Requirements

Above all, a proven love for children and a positive and caring demeanor to allow for the social and daycare’s schedules, rules and regulations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our babies
Physical ability to attend to infant’s needs including but not limited to; lifting up to 20kg, bending, and or standing for periods of time etc.
Completed certificate in KCSE
