Today I've been reflecting on all the ideas and businesses that i have created. Its been a journey of stress and joy at the same time. Let me tell you guys a short story about the creation of ishine holdings.
So 2013 i was a first year at the University of Nairobi juggling between education, passion and talent.
Among the three I came to realize that i was born to solve problems and this is where my journey in business began.
A friend of mine approached me with a very complex idea💡of how he would engage youths in his area to get busy. The thought came and it was about a community service and clean up. He went a head and registered a group of very unproductive individuals. I advised him to register a business name instead of a CBO.
Fast forward, ishine cleaning services was born but business failed to take off because we lacked strategy. Armed only with the vision of being great but with no capital and strategy we failed terribly.
Charles my partner decided that business was not his cup of tea, he focused on academics and is now a doctor somewhere in the USA.
Left a lone, i decided to incorporate the company into a limited/holding to expand the scope of business.
Gentlemen, doors opened and ishine started doing construction works and this is how another passion for construction began.
With the two conflicting business 'cleaning and construction' i could not focus so i had to let cleaning services go down as i painfully watched. This still breaks my heart.
I'm telling you guys this story so that you may learn to focus and avoid distructions.
Do you think we should continue with the cleaning business?
