We are back at the pool where we identified a huge leak from ne of the return jets.
Using the camera we were able to identify that the leak was directly behind th ewall of the pool and now that we have excavated the area we can see exactly what has happened.
As you can see from the video the return jet housing has completely sheared in two which explains why so much water was pouring out of the pool.
We also found that the housing was covered in silicon sealer which suggests that there was a problem with this return jet at the point of construction and rather than replacing it with a new one at a cost of €30 and a couple of hours work, the pool company decided to bodge it with a tube of silicon sealer.
Unfortunately this is not the first time we have come across this type of "repair" when investigating leaks.

Another day.....another leak.

This time it is the bottom drain of the pool that we identified as the culprit.
Unfortunately, when we tried to put the camera down into the tube it was full of sludge and we couldn't see anything so we had to remove the valve in the technical room and go into the tube from this end.
As you can see the pipe has been crushed and twisted to the point it has split now we know precisely where the leak is.
