Founded on 13th September at Varanasit. Our aim is to start the countrywide campaign under the name of "SAFAI Cleaning'' to make India Clean and Healthy. rld. Filled with ancient history in its pots, Varanasi has grown up as an important industrial centres famous for its muslin and silk fabrics, perfumes, ivory works and sculpture. Varanasi has been the cultural centre for several thousand years and is closely associated with river Ganga. The city is known worldwide for its Ghats embankments made in stone stabs among the river bank where pilgrims perform ritual ablutions. Modi’s pledge to cleanse the Ganges isn’t just about metaphor, or religion, or stripping off the mask to reveal the dark side of his Hindu nationalism. It goes to the very heart of his appeal. Nothing sums up the failures of government in India better than the despoiling of the Ganges. Rajiv Gandhi vowed almost thirty years ago to clean it up. Since then, hundreds of millions of dollars have been squandered on his Ganga Action Plan, with no discernible results. Some of the most noxious chemical effluent in the world still flows into the Ganges from the tanneries of Kanpur, two hundred miles upstream from Varanasi, because there are no effective treatment plants. Raw sewage still pours into the river because pumping stations are regularly shut down by power cuts. Fecal coliform bacteria levels along the ghats of Varanasi, where pilgrims take their “holy dip,” are off the charts. Cleaning, a student body provide cleaning services at Ghats. In addition with the services major function of S.A.F.A.I Cleaning is to educate more and more people about the cleanness and hygiene near them to prevent diseases. We live here so it is our responsibility to keep our surroundings clean. Varanasi holds a dirty paradoxical paradise.
