The Ultimate Chef Showdown was held at KR Mangalam University, featuring 13 participating teams from various institutes across Delhi NCR. The competition challenged participants to curate a two-course fusion menu, showcasing creativity, technique, and balance of flavors.

Representing our institute BCIHMCT, Nandini Gupta (Batch 2024–2028, Second Year) and Kanan Chopra (Batch 2023–2027, Third Year) presented a fusion of South Indian and French cuisines.

Their menu included:

Starter: Chicken Chettinad Tart

Main Course: Podi Masala Infused Fish Mousseline, Nori Rolled Curd Rice, Foogath Beans and Carrot, accompanied by Tomato Dhaniya Essence.

The Radisson Hotel Group conducted a campus placement drive on 30th October 2025, offering students a valuable opportunity to begin their professional journey with one of the world’s leading hospitality brands.

The distinguished guests included Mr. Harpreet Vohra, General Manager, Area General Manager- East India Radisson Hotel group & General Manager- Radisson blu- Faridabad, Ms. Sheetal Chadha- Sr. Manager, People & Culture, South Asia, Mr. Deepak Bhati- People & Culture Manager, Radisson Blu Faridabad, Mr. Varun Chopra- Rooms Division Manager, Radisson Blu Faridabad.

Regency College Hyderabad conquered the 24th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble — champions, undisputed.

The closing ceremony of the 24th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble was held at the elegant Auditorium of Banarsidas Chandiwala institute of hotel management and catering technology on the afternoon of October 17, 2025, beginning at 12:30 PM. The auditorium glowed with excitement and a sense of accomplishment, providing the perfect setting for the final chapter of this memorable hospitality gathering.

Event was inspired by the empowering tagline “Sanskriti se Samridhi,” which means Prosperity through Culture. This theme celebrated India’s rich heritage and placed cultural values at the heart of hospitality innovation. “Sanskriti se Samridhi” served as a guiding light, urging everyone to build sustainable and prosperous futures by honoring their cultural roots and infusing every aspect of service, cuisine, and management with authentic Indian spirit.

The three day mega event of hospitality came to a successful conclusion through closing ceremony conducted at the premises of the Institute. In this event, there were 17 total competitions including culinary, bar and hospitality management. In which there were 20 no. of teams participated from different parts of the country.

The ceremony opened with the traditional Lamp Lighting, performed by Chief Guest Ms. Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) and CEO of Red Hat Communications, alongside our Guest of Honour Sandeep Tandon, Chief Operating Officer, Habitat World at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi and our principal Sir Prof. R.K. Bhandari.

The gathering was subsequently addressed by esteemed dignitaries, who shared valuable insights and words of encouragement. Beginning with our Chief Guest, Ms. Jyoti Mayal highlighted that hospitality is more than a sector—it’s a lifelong way of living. She congratulated participants for becoming ambassadors of Indian warm hospitality, where every smile, gesture, and dish reflects the country’s rich heritage. She also emphasized that luxury lies in the experiences created, not possessions. She also stressed the importance of eco-tourism, community-based tourism, and encouraged embracing the Skill India initiative to build practical skills and responsible professionals who will shape the future of hospitality.

Prof. R.K. Bhandari, warmly thanked the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, dignitaries, faculty, and students for their presence and dedication. He highlighted how sustainability and innovation are driving the future of hospitality. Praising the students’ readiness to lead and he also emphasized the growing global recognition of Indian cuisine and culture.

Ms. Sharda Sharma and Mr. Sandeep Tandon, shared her heartfelt excitement about the bright future of hospitality. They praised the inspiring creativity behind the Chandiwala Millets Competition and the Trash into Treasure Competition, applauding how these innovative initiatives beautifully blend sustainability with learning.

The cultural part of the event includes energetic performance by the students of BCIHMCT. It started with spiritual and religious performance followed with beautiful rendition on Mahabharata and a wonderful singing performance, wrapping the audience in a sense of wonder and cultural pride.

The joyful Prize Distribution Ceremony followed, where winners were recognized with applause and cheers. The announcement and presentation of the Champions Trophy brought elation and pride to the winning college Regency College of Culinary and arts, Hyderabad and all present at the auditorium.

BCIHMCT Celebrates Grand Opening of 24th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble with a Theme of 'Sanskriti se Samridhi' - Prosperity through Culture.

Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology witnessed the grand opening of 24th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble 2025, on 15th of October. It was centered on the theme “Sanskriti se Samridhi” which means Prosperity through Culture. The campus of BCIHMCT buzzed with excitement, as students, faculty members, and eminent Industry Partners assembled to inaugurate the Mega CHE Event.

The Inaugural ceremony opened with the Lighting of the Lamp lighting Ceremony. This year’s event was elevated by the presence of Ms.Sujata Anand, Secretary , Banarasidas Chandiwala Sewa Smarak Trust Society, Chief Guest – Mr. Diwan Gautam Anand, a highly respected hospitality industry Professional, Founding Trustee of the Cuisine India Foundation and Former GM of ITC Maurya, New Delhi along with other distinguished guests from Hotel Industry including Ms. Viniti Behl(Area Director L&D Young Talent Development Hotels and Resorts), Ms. Nishiganda Chaitale (L&Q Manager,Crowne Plaza Today, Okhla), Mr. Sanjiv. S. k*mar (Operations Manager ,Crowne Plaza Today),Okhla, Chef Ajay Sood, Ms Navneet Batra (Assistant Manager Learning and Development - Young Talent Development and L&D Hub Delhi NCR) and our respected Principal Prof. R.K. Prof. R.K. Bhandari , highlighted the Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble as a premier national forum that unites aspiring hospitality professionals and students to demonstrate their competencies, creativity and professional excellence .He also signified that “ Each failure refines our wisdom, every challenge heals our spirit, and together they shape our rise”.

Mr. Diwan Gautam Anand, deliverd an inspiring and motivational address, commending the participants for the enthusiasm and dedication. He emphasized the significance of excellent guest experience which leads to profit, growth and development and also flexibility in service and engaging customers with diverse background. He has also spoken about GIG Hotels and cruise line, which opens wide range of career opportunities for Hospitality Professionals.

Dr. Prem Ram, emphasized our theme “Sanskriti se samridhi” and use of millets based dishes in Culinary world. He also highlighted the importance of roots in our career, as it gives us strength and identity. He even explained about the various culinary, Bar and various hospitality competitions that are going to take place during Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble. He also emphasized the importance of sustainability in hotel Industry.

On October 4th, 2025, the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology hosted its much-anticipated Fresher's Party, themed "Fake Indian Wedding." The event was a collaborative effort by the senior class, the Cultural team and supported by the Media team, creating an inviting atmosphere for the new students.

Honorable Principal Prof. R. K. Bhandari opened the event, inspiring attendees to engage wholeheartedly and embrace personal growth. The program was skillfully hosted by Mr. Sufiyaan(Batch 2023-27), and Mr. Tejal Kant(Batch 2024-28), ensuring smooth transitions and maintaining an energetic atmosphere.

The celebration kicked off with a ramp walk, showcasing participants' confidence. This was followed by the Talent Round(SPOTLIGHT), where students displayed their diverse talents through Music and Dance. A panel of esteemed faculty judges selected the top four finalists based on their attire, confidence, and overall performance.

The event culminated with the crowning of Mr. Jasraj and Ms. Vanshika as Mr. and Ms. Fresher. Their captivating performances resonated with the audience, one showcasing meticulous choreography and the other exuding elegance and charm.

Strengthening Industry-Academia Ties: BCIHMCT Hosts Formal Discussion and South Indian Lunch with Hospitality Experts

On September 16th, 2025, Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BCIHMCT) hosted an insightful discussion followed by a delightful South Indian lunch to strengthen its Chandiwala Co-Creation Research Lab initiative. This event brought together leading industry experts from top hotels in Delhi-NCR to collaborate on enhancing the institute’s academic framework and aligning it with industry standards.

The discussions focused on key areas like curriculum design, internship programs, and industrial training. With valuable insights from industry leaders such as Ms. Martina Das (Training Supervisor, The Oberoi), Mr. Devender Kumar (Director-Human Resources, Crowne Plaza), and Mr. Syed Najmus Saqib (Associate Director-Learning and Development, Radisson Blu), the session highlighted the importance of practical training, soft skills, and emotional intelligence in preparing students for the ever-evolving hospitality sector.

Ms. Martina Das, Training Supervisor, The Oberoi, New Delhi, emphasized the importance of brushing up on the students’ fundamental knowledge and standards, before starting their industrial training. Mr. Saqib and Ms. Chitale both stressed the importance of ‘Parent Counselling Sessions’ before students begin their training. This would help parents understand the industry's work culture and the overall outcome of the training. Prof. R.K. Bhandari also highlights the need of updating the training structure and supporting the same.

Key recommendations included creating checklists for trainees, offering logbooks to track progress, and expanding practical training from the very first year. Experts also stressed the importance of hands-on knowledge in all hotel departments, a collaborative approach to academic innovation, and mentoring throughout the training period.

The event also marked the second day of International Housekeeper’s Week, fostering deeper ties between academia and the industry. The engaging discussions were followed by a South Indian-themed lunch, offering an informal platform for further networking and sharing ideas.

Front office department organized “Manage the Damage” competition on 15 September 2025 which is a dynamic role play competition designed to test students’ situational handling skills in various hotel contexts.

From unexpected guest complaints to operational breakdowns, participants will be challenged to step into the shoes of front office professionals and demonstrate their ability to manage, resolve, and recover from difficult situations with grace and efficiency.

Each team assigned a unique scenario—ranging from data breach in records, VIP guest dissatisfaction, emergency evacuations, lost luggage, system failures, or miscommunication between departments.

The role plays judged on realism, problem-solving approach, communication style, teamwork, and guest recovery strategies.

In total 9 Teams participated, and the winning team members are: Mr. Devansh, Ms. Kanika, Mr Hrithik, Mr. Riyansh, Mr. Hardik from fourth year.

The first runner up team members are: Mr Naman, Ms Urbi, and Ms. Harman from fourth year.

The jury members of the competition were Dr. Reshma Kamboj(HOD-Front Office), Ms. Divya Thakur(Assistant Professor) and Ms. Jyotsna(Assistant Professor).
