Dear Sir/Madam/Students,
Greetings.

The swimming pool will remain CLOSED on Tuesday (10.04.2018) for the Pool MAINTENANCE due to Heavy Rain. We tried to clean the water till now but still water is not clear. Therefore, the swimming pool will remain closed for tomorrow. We regret the inconvenience caused to you.

The swimming pool will be CLOSED on MONDAY (09.04.2018) for the Pool MAINTENANCE. However, in compensation of Monday the swimming pool will be open on Friday (13.04.2018). We regret the inconvenience caused to you.

Dear Students/staff/family members,
Greetings.

This is to inform that the swimming pool of the Institute will be operational from 07th April 2018 as per the following tentative schedule till further order.

Get ready with proper swimming pool Identity card and swim suite. Those who don't have proper swimming pool Identity card, get it from physical education & sports section by applying proper application (http://nitkkr.ac.in/sub_courses.php?id=336&id4=187) form along with relevant documents.

IMPORTANT NOTE: M: Morning E: Evening

1. The maximum number of swimmers in each slot shall be 50 only. Hence, the members will be allowed in the pool on the FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE BASIS. The members should form a queue and get inside the pool in an orderly fashion.

2. The ENTRY of swimming pool is STRICTLY PERMITTED (Including employees) with the VALID Swimming Pool IDENTITY CARD ONLY.

3. Instructions of instructor or lifeguards on duty will be the final word at the pool. Membership card of those not obeying instructions of the lifeguards on duty will be canceled.

4. Every Friday swimming pool will be closed for the maintenance.

Swimming Pool Inauguration
NIT Kurukshetra now has a Swimming Pool of International Standards, 50 Mts. x 25 Mts. Size, with 90 Cm. depth at shallow end and 5 Mts. depth at deeper end. Apart from this, it is equipped with Three Spring Boards for Diving at 3 Mts., 5 Mts. and 7 Mts height simultaneously. It is provided with Anti-wave Lane markers to conduct competitions with Portable Take off Boards with Fiber of Olympic type where 60 to 70 people can be accommodated at a time.
The swimming pool is operational during the months of March to October every year. The swimming pool has different timings for employees and students. The Institute team also has a different slot where they improve their skills and technique under the supervision of expert coaches.
The inauguration of swimming pool was held on 13th June, 2017. Dr. M. N. Bandyopadhyay, former Director, NIT Kurukshetra was the chief guest and Padmashri Dr. Satish Kumar, Director, NIT Kurukshetra was the guest of honor. Dr. V. K. Bajpai, Officiating Professor In-charge (Physical Education) welcomed the chief guest, guest of honor, faculty and staff of the Institute. The inaugural function was started at 11.00AM and the following member were present Prof. V. K. Arora, Chief Advisor to Director, Prof. Surender Deshwal, Registrar In-charge, Prof. Arun Goel, Dean (Estate), Prof. D. K. Soni, Dean (P&D), Prof. Baldev Setia, Dean (Academic), Prof. Brahmjit Singh, Dean (R&C), Prof. Prof. S. M. Gupta, Professor In-charge (Estate) and more than 150 faculty, staff and students attended this inaugural ceremony.
Dr. Tejavathu Ramesh, Faculty In-charge (Swimming Pool) briefed about the swimming pool schedule, slots and activities. Dr. M. N. Bandyopadhyay also planted a Mango tree in the premises of the swimming pool as a mark of remembrance.
In the end, Mr. Shahabuddin and Ms. Pallavi Rai, SAS Officer(s) thanked all the members for showing interest and expressed their sincere gratitude to Director Padmashri Dr. Satish Kumar.
Dr. M. N. Bandyopadhyay was felicitated for his remarkable contribution to the Institute. Dr. M. N. Bandyopadhyay in his address said that time has passed like battling an eye. It’s really wonderful to see the Institute flourish to what it is today and inched forward towards realising the dream of creating a globally recognised and socially responsive Institute by the visionary Director Padmashri Dr. Satish Kumar.
