Mosquito-borne diseases are most prevalent in tropical and subtropical areas. The spread of these diseases is affected by a number of factors, including climate change, global travel, and urbanization.
Mosquitoes can transmit many diseases, including:
• Malaria
A life-threatening disease caused by the parasite Plasmodium. It's transmitted by the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito.
