Our guided Nature Walks at Taj West End take you through one of Bengaluru’s most remarkable green sanctuaries. Wander beneath one of the city’s oldest recorded Rain Trees, admire ancient Cycads and towering Caledonian Pines, marvel at giant Monstera vines and magnificent Gulmohars, and discover stately Tamarind and several species of Ficus, including a majestic old Peepal.

One of the highlights is an extraordinary Rubber Tree growing over volcanic rock—a fascinating example of nature’s resilience and adaptation. Along the way, we also explore a fragrant herbal and flowering garden, where aromatic plants and colourful blooms create a space that is as calming for the mind as it is refreshing for the senses.

There’s something magical about slowing down and seeing a familiar place through curious eyes. 🌿💚

This morning at Cubbon Park, wonderful families joined us to explore Bengaluru’s beautiful urban jungle. Together we walked, observed, questioned and discovered the incredible biodiversity thriving all around us.

Our young explorers spotted:
🐌 Slugs after the monsoon showers
🍄 Tiny fungi emerging from the forest floor
🌰 Mahogany pods and giant Jackfruit seeds
🌼 Fallen blooms of Golden Cassia, Coral Tree and Jacaranda
🐜 Intricate ant nests at the bases of old trees
🐛 Root grubs and striking yellow-spotted centipedes hiding beneath rocks

The park was alive with birdlife too:
💙 White-throated Kingfisher
🟣 Purple Swamphens with their adorable chicks
🦆 Spot-billed Ducks
🪶 Pond Herons
🌊 Cormorants

All morning we heard the cheerful calls of Barbets and the soaring cries of Black Kites—perhaps nature’s little hint that rain was on its way. 🌧️

When little hands and curious feet are free to explore, discover and wonder in nature, something beautiful begins to grow. 🌿💚

There is so much to see, observe and learn in the natural world. During our morning at Cubbon Park, we discovered busy ant homes, spotted playful Three-striped Palm Squirrels, watched Common Emigrant butterflies flutter by (and chased a few!), and stood in awe beneath the magnificent Banyan Tree, where little explorers hugged the trunk and swung gently from its aerial roots.

We uncovered fascinating creatures including earthworms, root grubs, centipedes and millipedes, took deep breaths beneath towering trees, and quietly observed wildlife at the lotus pond—spotting a Common Kingfisher, Spot-billed Ducks and bird nests together.

Through age-appropriate nature games and activities, our young explorers learnt about colours in nature picking fallen treasures from the ground, identifying plants and animals, and most importantly, building meaningful connections with the world around them.

A wonderful two-hour morning of curiosity, learning and joyful outdoor exploration with the enthusiastic first graders of Vidyanjali Academy. 🌳✨

🪵🐛 Millipede or Centipede? Can you spot the difference?

They may look similar, but they play very different roles in nature! 🌿

🐛 Millipedes are gentle recyclers that break down dead leaves and enrich our soil.

🦂 Centipedes are fast hunters that help control insect populations.

Both are essential for a healthy ecosystem and deserve our respect. The next time you find one beneath a log or leaf litter, take a closer look—but leave it where it belongs. 💚

🌿 We are meant to be outdoors.

To wander beneath towering trees. To feel the earth after the rain. To notice the little things that are so often overlooked. To build a connection with nature that we can lovingly pass on to the next generation.

This morning, our youngest explorers—toddlers, infants and their parents—stepped into the heart of Bengaluru for a slow and wonder-filled walk through Cubbon Park, the city’s beloved People’s Park.

Established in 1870 by Sir Mark Cubbon and Richard Sankey, this historic green oasis has been bringing people together for over 150 years. Today, it became our outdoor classroom.

After last evening’s rains, the forest floor was alive. The earth seemed to burst with biodiversity! We discovered earthworms, crickets, cockroaches, centipedes, millipedes and even root grubs—the fascinating larvae of the rhinoceros beetle. Butterflies danced through the cool morning air, with sightings of the Common Mormon, Common Emigrant, Plain Tiger and Grass Yellow, reminding us just how vibrant our city’s biodiversity truly is.

Through colour matching, little hands learnt to identify plants, our nature scavenger hunt encouraged observation and curiosity, and our interactive Web of Life activity showed children how every living thing in nature is beautifully connected. Every explorer headed home with a nature badge, a bookmark and, we hope, a heart full of wonder.

Nature isn’t something we visit once in a while—it is where we belong.

Here’s to muddy shoes, curious minds, tiny discoveries and raising children who know that every worm, butterfly, tree and bird has a place in our world. 💚

🐍 WORLD SNAKE DAY | Love. Respect. Coexist.

For many of us in Bengaluru, spotting a snake has been part of growing up—whether near a lake, in a garden, on a farm, or even in our neighbourhoods.

As a city once celebrated for its hundreds of lakes, sprawling gardens, and rich green spaces, Bengaluru continues to support an incredible diversity of wildlife. Snakes are an important part of that story.

Their presence is not a sign of danger—it is often a sign that nature is still alive around us.

Let’s bust a few common myths:
🍃 Snakes do not chase people.
🍃 Most snakes are non-venomous and avoid human contact.
🍃 They play a vital role in controlling rodent populations and maintaining ecological balance.
🍃 Every snake deserves respect—not fear.

The next time you see a snake, remember that it is far more afraid of us than we are of it. Give it space, avoid harming it, and contact trained wildlife rescuers if it is in an unsafe location.

On this World Snake Day, let’s replace fear with understanding and appreciation. Every snake has a role to play, and every one of us has a role in protecting the ecosystems we share.

When a little one asks for a Nature Walk to celebrate their special day, we’re always ready.

Yesterday, we celebrated a little one’s big 5 with nearly 30 children and their families at the beautiful Cubbon Park—turning a special day into a morning of wonder, discovery and connection.

Together, little explorers searched for perfectly camouflaged moths and caterpillars, wandered beneath giant trees, looked up at magnificent tree crowns, collected fallen natural treasures, explored colours, textures and earthy aromas, and discovered fascinating stories about the incredible biodiversity of Bengaluru’s green heart.

One of the most loved moments was creating our Web of Life, where every child and parent connected threads to understand how everything in Nature is beautifully interconnected. We wrapped up with a Nature scavenger hunt, explorer badges, bookmarks and, of course, one joyful group photograph where everyone smiled and shouted “Trees!” 🌳

At A Green Venture Nature Walks, our Nature Get Togethers are thoughtfully designed for children and families who want something meaningful, joyful and different.

Instead of four walls, we celebrate under towering trees.

Instead of screens, we discover insects, birds, reptiles and the little wonders often missed in everyday life.

Instead of rushing from one activity to the next, we slow down, breathe deeply, ask questions, play, explore and create lasting memories together.
